In a day of many distractions, and things to take our eyes off of the prize of eternal sinless happiness we need a reprieve. I'm not sure if you have noticed how many very big things are going on around you and you get a brief glance at it maybe through news media, or word of mouth. Then it's back to drudgery of being on the daily grind absorbing your mind, and other resources. When does it end? Is it just life or is a deeper event taking place in our lives unawares. Matthew reads: And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. -Matthew 24:39
This indicates men would be so absorbed into money making and other busy things to preoccupy their time instead of the needed preparation time.How sad is it for a man to gain the whole world and yet lose his/her soul.Yet this is the American dream, get, get, get, and gain more knowledge, jobs, cars, and bigger houses, when the invaluable like family, and spiritual life is neglected. This especially in city life, the rat race of prosperity, have deceived the masses! We fail to recognize terrible things have been, and will happen soon! I believe we will face terrible earthquakes very soon on US soil, which we are unprepared for.Get out of the cities, where you can prepare your heart for God to return, and have a place of refuge from the coming judgements that will befall the wicked cities who have forgot their Creator!
